Liebe straum take 3— love dream
I meet you in the garden.
Through the hedges, I hear you singing.
In my eternal sleep, i feel whispers of promises sweet.
The garden growing.
An ever changing gift,
Never stagnant
Like chasing the wind and gliding in it.
Something only expressed in song.
You speak of the children we lost,
We weep under the stars,
May the heavens welcome them as you did.
You sing and tears roll past your lips.
By your speech, they live and die again.
Shall I wake and learn to long for, or despise, what I miss—
for I know I can’t have it again!
I lament that I ever did.
So now we sit or lay
By graves we made.
But still, each other, we face.
I see I missed your eyes,
Through the dirt.
You will see the color in mine again.
I meet her in the garden.
Through the hedges, I hear her singing.
Shadows pass across my headstone like sunlight through mountains.
I hear her song;
weeping for the fruits of our love under the stars,
May the heavens welcome them as she did.
But I killed us all, it was time to wake.
Time to live, not for our kids or our swaddled teething.
I’ve never known you without knowing love,
So I could never wholly know you.
Always something missing.
Something in me that tells me to wake from my dreaming.
Fate would never let me love you if it was right.
But a life without loving you had no meaning.
My chest falls silent and cinders swell about the ribs and cry themselves away with the wind.
Tears swim through dense pockets of longing and trickle down, kissing our lips.
May I meet you in the garden once more, my love—
and the flowers fall with us to rest.
Together,
Once more,
My love.
